Daniel K. Bickford

Daniel Bickford, 63, passed away, June 29, 2017 in Gresham, OR after a long battle with cancer.

Dan was born August 6, 1953 in Brawley, CA and grew up in Imperial, CA. He attended Imperial Schools K-12 and graduated from Imperial High School Class of 1971. He also attended IVC. Dan married Cathy Cooke September 1, 1973 and together they raised 2 children.

Dan worked for the same cable television company from 1972 until 1998. Starting out in El Centro, CA then transferring and moving his family to Pendleton, OR to manage the cable system. While there he was a member of the Pendleton City Club and served on the boards of the Pendleton Country Club and The Main Street Cowboys. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball. Dan and his good friend Ed Taber led son Bobby’s 15 year old team to a State victory. In 1994 he transferred to Medford, OR to manage the larger system. In 1999 Dan and friend Joe Bonica started a new construction company LINE TECH. In 2000 Dan and Cathy moved to Gresham, OR. For the last 5 years, up until his illness, Dan worked for the Reynolds School District driving a school bus. Anytime Dan was not working, he was fishing or preparing to go fishing. Dan enjoyed the many friends and coworkers that he met over the years.

Survivors include his mother Norma Bickford, and sister Paula Bickford, both of Noble, OK, wife Cathy, Gresham, OR, son Bobby (and wife Jessie), Meridian, ID, daughter Carolyn (and husband CJ) Brown, Oregon City, OR, granddaughters Avery, Elle and Brooke, and grandson Porter, numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his father Bobbie Bickford and his sister Rene’ Burden.
