Outer burial containers are usually used in cemeteries
to retain the walls of the grave. It also allows the cemetery to have
equipment to go over the graves without creating sink holes. Outer burial
containers come in different styles: vaults made with concrete, synthetic
lining, and semi-precious metals. Grave liners can be in sections or
two pieces made from concrete. Vaults can be painted to match the color
of the casket, or lined with wood. Families have various emblems to
choose from which are put on the lid of the vault along with the deceased
person's name, birth and death dates.
gravebox, lined-vault, and bellvault
Not all burial receptables
provide the same protection.
There are three
basic types of burial receptables: the bell vault, the brave box, and
the lined burial vault. The bell vault, a lightweight product commonly
made of fiberglass or plastic, is designed to be stacked and stored
above ground for a long period of time before the burial. The grave
box, an unlined concrete box with holes in the base, allows ground water
to escape. For the most protection, you'll want to consider a lined
burial vault, a long-lasting receptacle with its coated exterior and
lined interior.
